Business Motivation Models – A Simple Explanation

Business Motivation is the main ingredient of any successful company or enterprise. It guides businesses towards their goals. Business motivation starts with the individual entrepreneur. He should set his mind to achieve the goal for which he is working. A clear understanding of the client’s needs is essential to keep them satisfied with the products or services that he is selling. The business motivation is to improve product or service quality, anticipate customer demand, motivate workers, provide the necessary training and tools, reduce cost, expand market share, reduce marketing and advertising costs, and to gain market share.

The Business Motivation Model in business architecture provides a systematic approach and structure for developing, delivering, communicating, managing, and protecting business plans in a well-organized manner. Motivation is more of a thought process rather than an action. There are two types of motivation, namely the direct and indirect type. Direct motivation comes from personal effort whereas Indirect motivation is derived from a change in the environment.

In the business motivation model the end results should be in line with the beginning goals. This includes both short term and long term gains. In the business strategy, the medium to long term results should always be considered. All business plans are designed with ends in mind. The business strategy should not only create a profit for the enterprise, but should also give it a market position. This can be achieved by making purchases in the right markets at the right time, using pricing strategies, marketing tactics, and production methods that are efficient and productive.

The business motivation model is a planned procedure used to drive a desired result in an organisation. It includes the process of creating a company image, building customer relations, identifying target customers, determining pricing and marketing strategies, developing management systems, setting performance standards, and making financial decisions. It also involves internal mechanisms and team building that provide motivation for the organisation. In essence, it is a tool used to increase the overall efficiency of the organization through a systematic approach.

The structure of the Business Motivation Model consists of four major elements inter-relate, to create a balanced model. These elements inter-relate to achieving company goals, identifying the desired results from the objectives, implementing a system for achieving these objectives, providing the needed support for the business, and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders. It is important to consider these factors since they will determine the achievement of the objectives.
