Google parent Alphabet has spun out a new industrial robotics company called Intrinsic.

Dormant Union County business/industrial park attracting plenty of interest, official says

ALLENWOOD – An industrial/business park in northern Union County has been mostly undeveloped since plans for a hazardous waste incinerator were dropped nearly three decades ago.

That could be about to change, according to Sean McLaughlin, the county’s planning and economic development director.

There is interest in every remaining parcel of Great Stream Commons, the 667-acre park along Route 15 north of Allenwood, he said.

This week it was announced River Run Foods near Northumberland had purchased 43 acres at the southern end of the park for $1.8 million.

Violence flares in Haiti ahead of slain president’s funeral

QUARTIER-MORIN, Haiti (AP) — Hundreds of workers fled businesses in northern Haiti on Wednesday after demonstrations near the hometown of assassinated President Jovenel Moïse grew violent ahead of his funeral.

Associated Press journalists observed the body of one man who witnesses said was shot in the community of Quartier-Morin, which is near Trou-du-Nord, where Moïse was born. Cause of east Kansas City industrial fire still unknown

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Dozens of business owners are recovering from a fire that happened last week in east Kansas City, Missouri.

FOX4 told you about the fire last week at Leeds Industrial Park that burned for hours and damaged many things inside.

The owner of Stacer Woodworking Incorporated, Sy Williamson, said he’s operating his business out of his garage.

MITRE announces first evaluations of cybersecurity tools for industrial control systems

MITRE Engenuity announced on Monday the results of its first-ever ATT&CK Evaluations for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). 

Researchers with MITRE used the Triton malware to test the detection ability of five different cybersecurity products from ICS vendors. The results of the exam can be found here

Industrial control systems are used by many of the world’s most critical infrastructures, including energy transmission and distribution plants, oil refineries, wastewater treatment facilities and more.
